This agreement creates a contractual relationship between HT Legal Ltd (Company No:06911903) Lansdown House, 85 Buxton Road, Stockport, England, SK2 6LR and the individual(s) who prints their name(s) and signs this agreement for the Firm to advise, investigate and represent the client to lodge a complaint, on the clients behalf, against relevant third parties. This includes pursuing a claim for Ongoing Advice Fees, Unsuitable Investment or Pension Advice, Car Finance Mis-Selling or Irresponsible Lending.
The service provided by HT Legal Ltd will be as follows:
- Obtain relevant information from your pension, investment, financial advice and/or finance providers to investigate the merits of your claim.
- Obtain relevant information from you to ascertain the basis of the claim and investigate its merits
- Use the information to provide an estimated value of your claim.
- Advise you about whether the claim has a prospect of success or not prior to presenting your claim

- Submit a claim on your behalf to the relevant party whether this is one of your providers or the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).
- Liaise with you and the relevant party following the submission of the claim until the claim is concluded.
- If the claim is rejected, we will discuss with you the possibility of escalating the claim to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
- If the claim is defended and/or you wish to challenge a decision made or any shortfall, we will discuss with you the possibility of pursuing legal action.
Client Obligations:
- To provide all information/paperwork that you have in your possession as required by HT Legal Ltd to help with the claim
- To not enter into any agreements with your your provider without first consulting HT Legal Ltd but understand that you may receive a call from your investment provider to confirm the details of the claim submitted by HT Legal Ltd
- To co-operate with HT Legal Ltd to enable us to provide the claims management service to you
- To notify HT Legal Ltd when an offer of compensation is made by any relevant party.
- To accept offers of compensation that HT Legal Ltd advises are reasonable
- To notify HT Legal Ltd where you are in receipt of compensation paid by any relevant party
Cancellation
You have the right to cancel the contract by telephone, email, or in writing to HT Legal within 14 days of signing the contract and you will not be charged. If you terminate after 14 days, and we have submitted your claim, and an offer of compensation is subsequently made, we will charge our full fee as detailed above. If you cancel after 14 days, and we have submitted your claim, and we are unsuccessful, we will not charge a fee.
Law & Jurisdiction
The law applicable to this contract shall be English law and the parties consent to the jurisdiction of the English courts in all matters affecting this contract.
Making a claim yourself
You do not need to use HT Legal Ltd to make this claim – you can do this yourself free of charge and if your claim is unsuccessful, you can pursue this with the Financial Ombudsman Service. In the event that the relevant party is no longer in business you may be able to use the services of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
Payment of our fee
HT Legal Ltd will endeavour to recover all monies in respect of your claim and undertake to forward any payment from your investment provider to you within seven days from the date received. We require that you promptly pay our fee no later than 7 days after you receive your compensation (if you are paid direct) or if you have no intention of accepting the offer and we recommend that you do so, 7 days after our recommendation. The fees we charge are set under rules laid down by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
Our fee structure is as follows:

Please note the above fee illustration is not to be taken as an estimate of the amounts we are likely to recover.
Complaints may be made in writing, by e-mail, by telephone or in any other form in respect of a claims management service that we have provided.
