Argentex LLP

Why might you have a claim involving Argentex LLP?

Argentex LLP (FRN 781077) ceased trading in July 2025 and entered special administration. The firm is under investigation by the FSCS, which set out on 17 July 2026 exactly who it expects to be able to compensate. The firm is no longer trading, so depending on which services you used, you may be able to make a claim against it in due course.

The position depends on the type of customer you were. Electronic money and payment services customers are not covered by the FSCS, and will instead receive a distribution of their safeguarded funds through the special administration, less a share of its costs. CASS client money customers, whose funds were held under the FCA’s client asset rules as part of Argentex’s investment services, are different. The FSCS has confirmed it will be able to compensate eligible CASS customers for the cost deduction taken from their client money entitlement, up to the 85,000 pound limit. Claims are not open yet. The administrators need a court order before distributions can be paid, and the FSCS will open to claims once that has happened.

How can we help?

The Argentex situation is unusually technical, and the difference between being an e money customer and a client money customer decides everything. If you are not sure which side of that line you sit on, that is exactly the sort of question we can help answer. If you have a claim to bring when the FSCS opens, we will be ready to act for you on a no win no fee basis and carry the work so you do not have to.

How does it work?

We begin with a free consultation over the phone and aim to give you an early indication of where you stand. If you go ahead, you sign our no win no fee agreement, we gather the evidence, value the claim, and submit it to the FSCS when it opens for Argentex customers. If we do not think you have grounds, we will say so plainly, and if a claim is unsuccessful you pay nothing.
