Need help with a claim involving Donre Advisory Ltd

If you’re worried about losses from a transaction involving Donre Advisory Ltd and are considering compensation, our experts can help. We’ll review your case thoroughly to determine what happened, who’s responsible, and how much you could potentially recover.

Understanding Donre Advisory Ltd (FRN 513993)

Donre Advisory Ltd, with Financial Conduct Authority Reference Number 513993, is listed by FSCS as eligible for potential compensation claims. FSCS describes Donre as a financial advice firm offering services in the areas of insurance, mortgage and home finance, and pensions and investment. FSCS also notes that the business was previously known as Basi & Basi Financial Planning Ltd until 25 April 2024.

The failed firm entry is especially important for clients who received advice about pensions or investments, because those are the product areas now linked to the FSCS failure position. If you received advice from Donre Advisory Ltd and later suffered financial loss, it is sensible to have your case reviewed as soon as possible.

No win, no fee

If you don’t get paid, then you pay nothing. If you get paid, we take a pre-agreed percentage based on how much money you receive for your peace of mind.

Why you may be entitled to compensation

When FSCS treats a regulated firm as failed, eligible consumers may be able to claim compensation where the firm cannot meet claims itself. In Donre’s case, FSCS has already opened the route for customers to check whether they can claim, and it has previously said it completed its initial investigations before moving claims forward for assessment.

The FCA has also confirmed that Donre Advisory entered creditors’ voluntary liquidation in July 2024. The FCA says the firm advised on and arranged deals in investments, including defined benefit pension transfers. That is a significant point for anyone who was advised to transfer, switch, consolidate, or invest pension funds through the firm.

What happened at Donre Advisory Ltd?

FSCS says that on 11 July 2024, the directors appointed Sean Bucknall and Andrew Hosking of Quantuma Advisory Limited as Joint Liquidators. FSCS also says it expected former clients to be contacted with further details and that, by 28 January 2025, it had completed its initial investigations and would shortly pass claims onto an assessment team.

The FCA says it had already imposed restrictions on Donre on 17 May 2024, preventing the firm from carrying on regulated business. According to the FCA, this was because the firm was operating without FCA approved senior manager function holders and did not have adequate resources. The directors later took steps to appoint liquidators after considering the firm’s financial position.

What types of claims may be relevant?

The exact claim will depend on the facts, but Donre related claims may involve:

The FCA specifically states that Donre advised on and arranged deals in investments, including defined benefit pension transfers. That makes pension transfer cases an especially important area to screen.

Previous names and connected businesses

This is an important firm to check carefully because some clients may not recognise the name Donre Advisory Ltd, but may remember earlier branding instead. Companies House confirms the business was previously known as Basi & Basi Financial Planning Limited and, before that, IFA Stop Associates Ltd.

The FCA also says Donre was the parent and controller of PSG SIPP Limited, a UK authorised SIPP operator, and Relay Administration Ltd, a pension scheme administrator based in Gibraltar. It also says Donre was responsible for appointed representatives including Onvestor Advisory Limited, which provided defined benefit advice to UK nationals living overseas, including in places such as the USA, Australia and Dubai.

That means some claims may involve overseas clients, SIPP related structures, or paperwork that refers to Onvestor or Basi & Basi rather than Donre itself.
